But i accessed my app using the navigation keys in emulator and also using keyboard keys. It worked fine. How else I can check for general remote access?

Do you have any TV device of STA?
In case you are lacking of devices for testing, you need to implement navigation for your app as Development guideline. Joint QA will help you to verified it. Besides, please consider of STA Requirements (https://developers.smarttv-alliance.org/app-development). You need verify your app to follow those requirements if you want to pass the QA process.
